This is based on research by the Chronic UTI Group, University College London (UCL), UK, that draws on experiments conducted on mouse models of chronic cystitis, lab work carried out using human bladder cells, or living culture of a human urothelium:

And the proposed treatment for chronic UTI is high dose antibiotics direct into the bladder in the form of micro-bubbles - a relatively new drug delivery system that is also set to be used in treating other conditions (ie in the video). I suppose the question some people have is does this apply to IC/PBS? Some leading researchers are saying yes. That's exciting.
